Virtual Choir for Young Singers
Age 9-12
Tuesdays 5:30 – 6:45pm ET
This class is FUN so young singers have an opportunity to express themselves with their voices and bodies, explore their music interests, get to know other singers, develop their musical ear, and have something tangible at the end that can be shared over and over. No music experience necessary.
songwriting for guitar and piano
Age 12-19
Tuesdays 7:00 – 8:15pm ET
Take your creativity to the next level by exploring different music styles and learning to discover your own unique sound. We will listen to, and analyze, music from across different genres, and explore song structure, chord progression, rhythm, melody, and lyrics. This class is best for young musicians who have some basic understanding of either guitar or piano. This class can be repeated as many times as you want because there are always more songs to write.
Creative guitar
Age 9-12
Wednesdays 5:30 – 6:45pm ET
This class is a beginner guitar class for singers age 9-12. Learn the basics of guitar through songs you love to listen to. We will explore open chords, and read basic tablature, the theory building blocks needed for playing any song you want to on the guitar.
piano for singers
Age 12-19
Wednesdays 7:00 – 8:15pm ET
Piano for Singers is a music exploration and skills class for any young pianist who would like to develop their piano chops to accompany themselves while they sing. The class is taught like an “independent study”, with each musician on their own journey, with their own musical tastes in mind. Best for pianists who have had at least a year of instruction and already understand what they are looking at when playing the piano.

This guitar skills class is for any teen guitarist who would like to take their guitar chops further, whether on electric or acoustic guitar. The class is taught like an “independent study”, with each musician on their own journey, with their own musical tastes in mind. This class is best for guitarists who already know some fundamentals on their instrument.
vocal performance workshop
Age 12-19
Thursdays 7:00 – 8:15pm ET
Vocal Performance Workshop is a class meant for exploring and developing your unique sound. We will listen to, and analyze some of the most unique and expressive voice in the music history, and then explore the unique aspects of our own voices. The class is taught like an “independent study”, with each singer on their own journey, with their own musical tastes in mind.
Session 2: April 18 - May 27, 2022
small vocal ensemble (in-studio)
Age 9-12
Tuesdays 5:30 – 6:45pm ET
Sing your favorite songs with other young musicians! This small vocal ensemble will explore melody, harmony, vocal range, expression, creativity, and performance as they get ready to share at the showcase. No experience necessary, just an enjoyment of singing and a willingness to work with others.

Using loops, available instruments, and free recording software, you will develop original music from conception all the way through completion. This class is best for self-motivated students with access to Garageband, Apple Logic Pro, Soundtrap, or BandLab during the class each week. Class is offered like an independent study, with each student working on their own music to share at the Young Musicians Showcase.

Wednesdays 5:30 – 6:45pm ET
Hone your creativity and performance skills through music exploration and interactive group music-making. Together we will select a contemporary song and re-imagine it with our own instruments and creative ideas. Bring your instrument and we will work together to create a performance for the Young Musicians Showcase!
music video production
Age 12-19
Wednesdays 7:00 – 8:15pm ET
This NEW class will teach you the basics of music video production, from concept to storyboarding, filming, and editing. This class moves quickly from one week to another, so be prepared to really dig in and spend time on your project between classes as well, if needed. Videos can be shared as part of the virtual showcase at the end of the session.

Age 12-19
Thursday 5:30 – 6:45pm ET
Come together with a small group of other young musicians to learn, practice, and perform! Bring your instrument and we use the musical interests of the group to decide what songs to perform for the showcase. One year of experience on your instrument is recommended.

Thursdays 7:00 – 8:15pm ET
This class is meant for exploring and developing your unique sound in performance, as we prepare to present solos at the showcase. The class is taught like an “independent study”; each singer on their own journey, with their own musical tastes in mind. Suggested prerequisite: Vocal Performance Workshop
